Here’s all the commonly asked questions to help put your mind at ease.

General FAQ’s

What is a bootcamp?

The name “bootcamp” is derived from the military meaning of a camp designed for new recruits to teach them basic skills and prepare them for their service career. In fitness terms, it’s a series of training circuits and programs to enhance your fitness and strength.

What sets Totalfit apart from any other Bootcamp in Ipswich?

Totalfit is one of the longest running bootcamps in Ipswich and although we may not be the fittest bootcamp in town we are by far the most supportive, friendly, fun, flexible & affordable in Ipswich.

Because we aren’t a large franchise, we are able to offer far more flexibility in terms of membership, free trials and are very much open to any suggestion’s clients have. Because we are smaller we are more approachable & able to make changes to suit client needs and we pride our business on being designed for real everyday people, we have lumps, bumps & bulges and we all sweat in unwanted places. As previously mentioned, we are so lucky to have an amazing bunch of long-term clients who are one of our biggest assets.

Where are you located?

We are in the old Scout Hall 1 Woodford St at One Mile. We have a sandwich board sign on Old Toowoomba Road pointing in the direction of where we are

What can I expect from classes?

No two classes are the same (unless you attend two back to back sessions). We continually change things up. We currently have 3 trainers & one trainer completing Fit College, between 4 of us we all are quite different, and all have different specialties to offer. You can expect a demo of each individual exercise at the start of each class, a thorough warm up & during the class at least one if not two trainers are present to give individual support, form correct, additional demos and answer questions along the way.

At the end of the class we complete a cool down, stretches and some people mingle for a short time having a chat after classes. Trainers are always available to answer any questions you may have.

What do I need to bring with me?

Comfy work out clothes, a towel and a water bottle, hat in summer if preferred & ready for fun attitude.

What happens on my first night?

We ask on your first night to please arrive 10-15 minutes before the class starts. This is so we can complete paperwork, give you a bit of a tour of the premises, meet the trainer for the evening and most importantly so we can introduce you to a few members before the class begins

I do not have the ‘latest & greatest clothing’ – does this matter?

Absolutely not, we pride ourselves on not having the stigma of the latest & greatest & most fashionable in season gear. Most of our clients find a $10 pair of pants, T-shirt, or singlet more than suitable.

We do recommend comfortable shoes & suggest that if you should decide to stay on you do invest in a good quality pair of shoes.

I am really really unfit & can’t even run, does this matter?

No problems at all, we all start somewhere, and your biggest step will be arriving to your first class. We cater for all fitness levels and adapt classes to suit. We are always able to offer alternative exercises & often have entry level clients.

I get anxious and incredibly nervous in new situations

That is completely fine and understandable. Totalfit are extremely lucky to have an amazing and supportive client base. We are all very welcoming and assure you there is nothing to be afraid of. Although we are fitness based our main priority is ensuring our clients are comfortable & having fun. We are confident after a few sessions any nerves will be well gone.

Why do I have to book in?

We ask everyone to please book in for a couple of reasons:

  • We have a COVID-19 safety plan in place
  • If we know who and how many are coming along, we can better tailor that evening class to suit.

How do I book in?

We use a software package from Gymcatch, which simplifies the process. To book via this system, you can either:

  • Simply send us an email or Facebook message if you’re having troubles with the booking system

What happens if I don’t book? – Can I still turn up?

Thanks to ever changing COVID-19 restrictions, we require everyone to please book beforehand. At times we are required to cap numbers (again, thanks COVID-19) so you may risk being turned away if you arrive and the class is at capacity.

We do our absolute best to accommodate; however, restrictions are out of our control.

Can I cancel my booking?

Yes, you can, whenever a booking is made you will receive an email confirmation, use the link on your email confirmation to cancel. If it is easier please send  Tom (0429 410 174)  a message or if on Facebook send a message to our page and we will cancel for you.

If you do cancel, we will not hassle you or ask why nor put the guilts on you for cancelling – we get it… things come up and people cancel. We’ll simply see you next time instead 🙂
