We're not your typical gym and our team aren't the typical gym types.

Instead, at Totalfit Ipswich we have a simple mission. Get fit while having fun!

Meet Tom

This photo is from June 2013 and represents the reason why I am where I am today. I was 160kgs… I smoked a packet a day…  Nearly every meal I ate was fast food and my only thought about exercise I had was walking to the fridge & that was my cardio for the day.

Once I replaced the Double whopper a large chocolate thick shake, side of onion rings and a cheeseburger for movement every day my life changed.

I know what it feels like to be uncomfortable with everything, avoid photos because they made me feel ashamed of myself, and I know what it is like not being able to find clothes that fit.

The main reason I wanted to continue with the Totalfit Ipswich experience is the joy seeing of seeing that look of ‘I did it’ on your faces when you achieve something. Be it able to do a push up on your toes, do a sit up, or be able to walk up a hill without having to stop halfway. I know how much of a triumph that it is, and you deserve to feel elated as you have earnt it. Your goal may be being able to beat that challenge you set for yourself of just one more squat.

To this day I look in the mirror and I still see that fat guy on the couch even though he is long gone, my story is still being written and it is far from finished.

Throughout my years at Totalfit, firstly as the ‘fat guy’ who struggled with most sessions; slowly taking more and more interest & soon I found workouts became easier and much more enjoyable. Gradually I began studying fitness and started taking the odd class. I have made a huge number of friends along the way, as it’s much more than just a gym. So, when Mick came to us to purchase the equipment how could we really say no? Totalfit Ipswich was born and will continue to be a part of our journey and we hope to see as many of you right beside us every step of the way.

Meet Kellee

I’m Kellee, I have three children, am a serial volunteer and like to give things a go. If you only met me now, you possibly wouldn’t believe me when I say that I’ve been classed as obese on the BMI scale almost my whole adult life. While I enjoyed playing sports at school, I did very little once I left. Life got in the way as I studied, worked, got married, had a baby, moved countries, and had two more babies. Other than walking and some yoga, I hadn’t done any exercise for over ten years when a friend convinced me to try the local gym she had joined. I made a commitment to myself to go for the last ten weeks of school term and when that last week came, I didn’t want to stop. I’m still going to my CrossFit gym five years later. Recently I’ve done some triathlons and have set a goal of completing the Ironman 70.3 in Cairns 2021. Seems I’m quite fond of giving crazy suggestions a go. Like training to be a fitness instructor… So once the kids headed off to school, I studied my Cert IV in Fitness to be able to work around school hours and help people reach their goals. Why? Because I get it. I’ve been there and know how hard it is. Having babies has taken a it’s toll on my body so I get that too. I also understand the struggles of fitting in exercise when you have babies/children. But I know it’s possible. I’m 20kg down and continue to work on being healthier everyday so I can be here for a long time for both myself and my children.
